I think this is one of the traditional snack food in Malaysia and it is a nice snack for all day no matter breakfast or supper.
It can be found at any pasar pagi or pasar malam (wet market or night market) in KL area and Penang
It was a simple snack food made of flour dough, and then deep fried
This hawker stall at Raja Uda, Butterworth, Penang is the most delicious fried flour dough after I tried so many at KL & Penang
Must try ~ 花子 (translated in english which mean flower, because the shape after deep fried it looks like a flower), it is the most delicious of the fried flour dough, crunchy and a little sweetness and aroma with sesame. Really good!
There are two flavors of this 花子, original and pandan.
Personally, I prefer the original.
Other types of fried flour dough
~ 糯米糕, sweet glutinous rice with fried flour dough
~ 咸煎饼, fried salty flour dough
~ 咸煎饼豆沙, fried salty flour dough with red bean filling
~油炸鬼, a famous tradition food at China
